“In January 2014, I made a New Year's resolution to lose 30 pounds. The weight had been creeping up on me for several years and I had topped out around 160lbs. I started going to a circuit training center without any instruction and lost about 10 pounds. In May, I had a hip/back injury. The doctor sent me to physical therapy for five weeks and a recommendation for PG FIT. In September 2014, we were
trying to find something physical for our adult, high functioning autistic son, Tyler, to get involved in. I thought about PG FIT
because I knew they offered private training. Tyler's progress was wonderful, and he loved going to PG FIT. In December, the staff urged me to attend a free holiday two-week trial class. I was hesitant, thinking I would feel out of place in a class with young, fit people but decided to give it a try. Little did I know, it would be life changing! Michael and the PG FIT staff welcomed me into their PG FIT world and all the members were very supportive and approachable. I immediately fell in love with the Metabolic Resistance Training group classes and began to feel stronger every day. Even though we are in a class setting, all the exercises are designed to fit the individual's level of fitness. I decided to tackle the 28 Day Challenge, and everything fell into place.
“Everybody has excuses. I was no
different. Too tired, too busy, too early,
too late. Add on top of those the medical
excuses such as four surgeries removing
most of the cartilage from both knees,
two lower back surgeries for herniated
discs, and Parkinson’s disease and you get
me...at nearly 300 pounds. I had almost
given up on ever being able to do anything
“athletic”. Just getting out of bed took 30 minutes. Stairs....forget
it. Running...not even in my vocabulary. I had gotten this stupid
idea of joining a gym, thinking it would magically transform me
to the shape I was when I graduated college. It took about a
month or two to get enough courage to walk in the gym. My first
class was with Michael. I remember when I was about 10
minutes into it and thought I might just collapse on the mat and
die. We had just finished doing goblin squats and Michael smiles
and says “ok, good warmup. Now for the workout”. If I could
have moved my legs at that point I might have just walked out
and gave up. Then Michael started explaining each part of the
workout and key movements. Everything he was explaining
sounded like Charlie Brown’s teacher talking, but somehow I
managed to get through class. As I’m dragging myself out of the gym Michael gives me a high five and says “You made it. It will
be easier tomorrow.” I went back the next day and made it
through class. The more I went to class the more Charlie
Brown’s teacher turned into my life changing coach Michael. It’s
been a little over a year and a half since I started, and I’ve lost
40 pounds of fat. Just fat. But the weight loss is only a small part
of PGFit. Nutrition, hydration, stabilization, strength, and
power are all incorporated into 45 minutes a day. I’m now in the
best shape I’ve been in 20 years. I’m able to run five miles in the
morning and still have a normal day. I actually look forward to
5am because I can go to the gym. About 90% of my office
coworkers go to the same CrossFit gym. I hear everyday how
someone has hurt their back or some other part. That doesn’t
happen at PGFit. Every trainer actually knows what they are
talking about, and they pay attention to how your body moves.

the idea of paying for "fitness" when all I
thought I needed was a pair of running
shoes and some awesome trails! The
personal trainer aspect of PG Fit has

surgeries. The first came after
doing a popular “boot camp” for
2 months. The second came after
I hired a trainer to come to my
home - a trainer I hired to teach
me how to strengthen my core to
support my injured back.
At that point, I didn’t think

From day one, I was never told
to do an exercise that was too
advanced for me, nor was I told to “keep going” even if I

“After turning 60 I developed
some arthritis in my hip and
some lower back disc
problems, which translated to
chronic pain. Not wanting to
lose mobility, I joined a gym.
The trainer there just showed
me how to use the machines. I
had a hard time staying

know if I was helping or

my ankle on a hike and
completing PT, I knew I needed something more.
I had seen my husband’s energy and movement improve

“I was struggling with my weight my
entire life. It was never really bad (I
never let it go over 160 lbs at a height
of 5'8") but it was not good either. I
had times when I lost 20 lbs but
besides feeling weak and terrible
from starving I gained it back
immediately after going back to
eating normal. I used to work out
regularly, but my body never showed
the work I put in it. After doing Crossfit for a couple months
my knee and my shoulder gave up which led me to a point where
I felt I needed help.
I found PG Fit online and after a hesitation phase of a couple

“I have always enjoyed exercising and I’ve tried a variety of
workouts such as ballet, kickboxing, hot yoga, reformer pilates,
and jazzercise. Our metabolism slows as we age causing muscle
loss and fat gain. PGfit has been the “best fit” for me to
decelerate that process. The difference has been the individual
fitness evaluation and instruction that a personal trainer
provides. From the beginning, Michael emphasized the
importance of wearing a heart rate monitor to more efficiently
track our target zones and improve our cardiovascular
endurance. The wrist bands are helpful in identifying muscle
imbalances and range of motion deficiencies. Stretching out with
foam rollers before class and after with bands warms up muscles
and smooths out knots. This form of self-massage has been an
invaluable practice for me that enhances the quality of each 45
minute workout. When a state-of-the-art fitness center
opened nearby with its numerous
machines, classes, saunas and pools, I tried
it. In no time however, I returned to PGfit,
because of its excellent trainers. They
modify each exercise for each of us as
needed to prevent injury and periodically
reassess our flexibility and balance. I have
been able to track my progress on the electronic screen during
session and with the provided app when on the go, which has
motivated me to continually improve.
In almost two years of PGfit membership, I have lost 14lbs, 8%
body fat and increased my OWNIndex fitness score by 14

When I first started at PG Fit, I was well over where I should be weight wise at 172lbs. and my body fat was around 35%. With my time with her, I dropped to 150lbs and 23%. I’ve never been in better shape! / I finally got rid of all my X’s
A year before my 50th birthday, I decided that I wanted to give myself the ultimate gift … I wanted to get healthy. I had ballooned up to 270 lbs and was starting to get really frustrated with myself. Little things were starting to bother me … I couldn’t bend down to tie my shoes; I was experiencing knee and hip pain; I noticed that airplane seats were getting too small for me. Bigger things were happening too … I would throw out my back at least once a year; I was breaking furniture at home (including metal furniture!); I couldn’t find clothing I liked. I made the decision to get fit and healthy.
My upcoming 50th birthday was the motivation I needed. I decided that I wanted to lose weight the “right” way this time. I’ve done all of the “quick” “easy” “just take a pill” diets out there and every time I would regain weight. I also found that as I got older, it was getting harder and harder to shed the excess weight. This time I wanted to make sure that I included both diet AND exercise.
When I started seeing Michael at PGFit, I weighed 270 lbs with a body fat percentage of 36%. On my 50th birthday, I weighted 200 lbs with a body fat percentage of 16%. I lost 70 lbs and reduced my body fat percentage by 50%. I went from size XXXL shirts to L shirts (slim fit!) and from size 44 pants to size 32. I lost all of my X’s!!
Michael taught me that there are no gimmicks to a healthy lifestyle – just proper nutrition and exercise. I realized that I knew very little about proper nutrition – Michael coached me on not just what to eat, but also how to eat – timing my meals properly to fuel my body and to stabilize my hunger. My ignorance of nutrition was only eclipsed by my ignorance of proper exercise. Michael’s patient, methodological approach to workouts helped me gain confidence performing exercises, maintaining proper form and using the equipment properly. During this journey, not only did I lose weight, I gained MUCH more. I feel better (my pains have gone away), I have more confidence in both my professional and personal life, I have tons more energy and my clothes look and fit better. But most importantly I am fit and healthy.
Not long ago, I ran into a friend of mine and I was amazed at how lean and fit she looked. I wanted to know what she was doing to achieve that look and she told me about Michael. Around that same time, my daughter began her volleyball season and I really needed her to get into shape in order to make the volleyball team. I thought I would sign both of us up to workout with Michael so that I could keep an eye on what he was working with her on and maybe drop a few pounds myself in the process. The first weeks we saw Michael were brutal. We could barely do jumping jacks or catch our breath. Our muscles were sore, our egos were hurt and our confidence was severely bruised. By the third week we were ready to quit. Fortunately for us, one of Michael’s long standing clients was there on the day that I was going to tell him we were quitting and she talked us off the ledge. She told us our muscles would always be sore because they were breaking down and building back up. But she assured me that our confidence would soar if we just stuck with it and did what Michael told us to do because he was the best in his field. My daughter stuck it out, lost 13 pounds and was in the best shape she’s ever been in. She made the volleyball team and with a new found confidence she tackled other sports as well.
A year and a half after that conversation with Michael’s client I am still going to the gym to see Michael every day. It’s become a habit like brushing my teeth or washing my face. I wouldn’t miss it for anything. I don’t train privately with Michael anymore. I train with a group of people that have become like members of my family. Most days my muscles are still sore and my ego still hurts. But with Michael’s patience and knowledge my confidence has soared. If there are days that my confidence wavers, Michael’s confidence in me and encouraging words from my fitness family push me through. Michael is extremely passionate about learning about fitness and nutrition and passing it on to all of us. He wants us to be educated and truly wants each one of us to succeed. When I first met Karina, I was recuperating from severe sciatica. I had 3 injections, and my pain was manageable enough for me to exercise. I had tried physical therapy, but I was unhappy with the lack of one on one supervision. Karina pushed me within my limits to change my body to more than I ever thought possible. I was wearing a size 12, and am now a 4/6. She knew which parts of my body needed to be strengthened to be able to reduce my pain, and enable me to get back to my passion - tennis. Not only did she focus on my form, to be sure I did not reinjure myself, she taught me how to be self-sufficient. I now know how to schedule my own workouts, how to shop for food to keep me on track, even how to shop for clothes that are most flattering. Her constant support has made it possible for me to maintain my weight loss and, more importantly, my health. She truly cares about each and every one of her clients.
In May of this year I started my first few sessions with Michael. The first thing he did was put me through tests so that he would know exactly where I stood. At the same time I went to my doctor for some blood work. The combined news wasn't so good. My blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was in the mid 300's, and my tryglicerides were over 700! Michael's analysis held somber news as well, my body fat percentage was over 40 and my body age was 72!....I'm 42.
Over the next three months I worked out three to five time a week and started working hard to incorporate the needed dietary changes. It was tough but by the first week of September I had lost almost 30 lbs., my cholesterol was down to 220, and my tryglicerides we in the 200's as well. My body age was now at least in the right decade at 48.
Even though I was unable to kick some detrimental habits, Michael kept pushing and encouraging. He was a real fitness mentor, coach, and friend. He provided accountability as well as advice and encouragement. I cannot recommend him and PG Fit highly enough.
Painful back issues brought me to Michael Romig over a year ago. He was recommended by a friend that had some similar problems. Michael’s goal with me was to strengthen my core so that surgery could be postponed indefinitely. After working with him 2-4 times a week for over a year my back is in better shape than it has been for quite some time. The work outs have strengthened my core and have made my situation livable. I feel great and I have been able to reduce the number a frequency of pain medications
I wanted to thank you, Karina, and Seth for helping me deal with my plantar fasciitis. As you may recall, in December, I was walking with significant pain due to my plantar fascia. You and your team provided me the necessary training to loosen the muscles as well as build strength and stability in the major muscle groups that were inefficient and caused me to hobble around. You offered alternate exercises that allowed me to rebuild those muscles as well as get a great cardiovascular workout.

Roger is 65 years old and has worked out consistently since 1998. Michael introduced Roger to the importance of heart rate training and had him purchase a heart rate monitor. Since following a structured cardio program, Roger has lost seven pounds of fat and is every bit as strong as he was before if not stronger.
