Medication Contraindications & Warnings
Essential safety information for partner screening and patient evaluation
⚠ Important Partner Notice
This guide provides contraindications and warnings for each medication. Always consult with healthcare providers and conduct proper patient screening before recommending any treatment. When in doubt, refer to medical supervision.
✅ NAD+ Benefits (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide)
Coenzyme critical for energy production and cellular repair
- Cellular energy – Central to ATP production via mitochondrial function
- Anti-aging research – Supports sirtuin and longevity pathways (research ongoing)
- Cognitive support – May support focus and mental clarity
- Addiction recovery – Used in some protocols for opioid/alcohol detox support
- Metabolic function – Supports cellular metabolism and enzyme activity
- DNA repair – Involved in DNA damage response pathways
⛔ Strong Contraindications (Do Not Use)
- Known Allergy or Hypersensitivity
Anyone with a known allergy to NAD+ or its components should not receive it. - Active or Uncontrolled Cancer
Controversial area: Some preclinical data suggest that boosting NAD+ may also fuel cancer cell metabolism (via enhanced mitochondrial function and DNA repair). Until more is known, NAD+ is often avoided in patients with active cancer, especially without oncologist approval. - MTHFR Mutation (in high doses)
Patients with MTHFR gene mutations may not methylate properly, and high doses of NAD+ can cause methylation imbalances. Use with caution.
⚠ Use with Caution
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Insufficient safety data. Avoid unless specifically prescribed and monitored. - Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension)
NAD+ infusions can cause vasodilation, leading to drops in blood pressure, dizziness, or flushing—especially if administered rapidly. - Arrhythmias or Heart Conditions
Some users report palpitations or tachycardia during IV NAD+. Monitor closely in patients with pre-existing cardiac issues. - Anxiety Disorders or Sensory Sensitivity
Rapid NAD+ infusion can cause chest tightness, anxiety, or a “rushed” feeling. Slower drips (over 1–2 hours) are recommended.
ℹ Important Administration Notes
- IV Administration Guidelines:
- Always monitor blood pressure during infusion
- Use slower drip rates (1–2 hours) to minimize side effects
- Have emergency protocols ready for cardiovascular events
- Consider pre-medication for anxiety-prone patients
- Ensure proper hydration before and after treatment
